Should there be a viewing?
A question that is often asked of us is “Should there be a viewing?” A viewing is an opportunity to say your final goodbyes before the funeral service. Tucker & Nankivell can provide a peaceful environment in our chapel for your viewing.
Whilst a viewing may not be ideal for everyone, it can offer some solace and comfort especially if the deceased’s final moments were witnessed or happened under traumatic circumstances. Seeing the deceased at peace can often offer closure and in some circumstances help with the grieving process.
During the viewing you are encouraged to express personal thoughts, talk to the deceased and maybe just hold their hand to finish off any “unfinished business”. It also helps with acknowledging that death has occurred.
If you would like to arrange a viewing, please speak to your funeral director during your arrangement meeting. They will assist you with organising a viewing.
